The Rooted Collective

2025

Damn Y’all Fine is a documentary film celebrating the self-stylings, lived experiences, and expressive brilliance of Baltimore’s Black queer and trans community. Directed by Ti Malik Coleman and Dr. Kalima Young, the film explores how the city’s history, culture, and creative spirit shape the identities of Black, queer, and trans artists and activists.

I was brought on by The Rooted Collective to design the premiere poster and flyer for the film’s debut at the SNF Parkway Theatre. My goal was to create a visual identity that honored the richness of Black queer aesthetics - bold, intimate, and unapologetically Baltimore. The final design weaves together themes of self-expression, community care, and the film’s celebratory tone, anchoring the promotional materials in the same sense of joy and affirmation that defines the project.

The premiere sold out quickly, drawing Baltimore’s queer community, artists, families, and allies to a screening followed by a talkback with the directors. The visual campaign helped set the tone for the event: grounded, stylish, and rooted in love for the people and the city that shaped the film.
