Nyo Meiko
Nyo Meiko is a Baltimore-based designer and MFA candidate in Integrated Design at the University of Baltimore. He creates thoughtful visual identities and uses storytelling to explore how design shapes culture and connection.
By day, he works at the Enoch Pratt Free Library as a Librarian & Media Specialist, where he proudly volunteers as tribute to be the Best & Next department’s resident designer, supporting public programming and visual communications.
By night, Nyo freelances with mission-driven organizations and cultural institutions. Recent collaborations include Mosaic Cooperative, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and ReBUILD Metro.
Whether developing a full brand system or a single mark, he approaches each project with attention to visual language, context, and tone, ensuring the work feels intentional, flexible, and grounded in meaning.
He has previously interned with Silent Books Publishing and Johns Hopkins University APL, and supported students as a TA and lab assistant at UBalt. His thesis research focuses on recovering the overlooked histories of early 20th-century Black graphic designers.
